A Day in the Life of Murry

By

Tori Puoci

One day, Murry the dog went on the living room carpet. “Bad dog!” cried his owner, Ricky. You know you’re not supposed to go on the carpet! Now Mom will get mad at me.” “So,” thought Murry, “you’re getting in trouble, not me. I’ll probably get another lecture, but I’ll just try my puppy dog look.” But instead of a lecture, Ricky’s mom said “That’s the last straw Murry! Off to dog training school with you!” Murry whimpered and tried the look.

The next day, Ricky and his mom took Murry to the vet. After his appointment with Dr. Flo, Murry looked up at Mrs. Regard, Rickey’s mom, as if to say, “Please don’t send me to dog training, Pleeeeease!” Mrs. Regard just shrugged and asked when the next session of dog school started. Ricky whispered “Don’t worry boy, I’ll be there with you the whole time.”

It turned out that Murry liked dog school very much (except when he had to go home). He never went on the living room carpet again (except for maybe once or twice).

Underwater Football

By

Tori Puoci

It was six to six. There were five more seconds left until the game was over. Then…. TOUCHDOWN by the Fish-Fighters’ number 88, Charles Needles. This was the 22nd Starfish Bowl and the Fish-Fighters had won every game thanks to 22 generations of the Needles Family. It was all thanks to George Needles, the founder and the manager of the first Fish-Fighters football team. Charles had just made it official. The Fish-Fighters would never loose.

The next game, Charles sent a bubble to the coach saying that he was busy at home and had to miss the game. Even though they won, it just wasn’t the same without Charles.

The next week, the Fish-Fighters were scheduled to play the hardest team in the sea. Charles sent another bubble saying he couldn't come. The coach was furious! “What is going on?” cried the coach. “What’s so important that he has to miss TWO games. I am going over to his castle right after the game and I’m going to find out.”

It turned out that Charles’ wife was going to have a fry. It was a boy and they named him Alex. He was the new generation and would be the new hero for the Fish-Fighters.

The End.
