First Day of School

Monday, July 7, 2008

A whole lot a summer in just one week. UPDATED WITH PICS

The Puoci girls start the new school year next Tuesday, July 8th so we’ve been very busy this last week packing in the summer.

One Monday, we went swimming with our friend Mollie. (See previous post for slideshow). Tuesday was spent with cousins, Zach, Zoe, Zane, Jacob and Luka. All eight of Nonna and Nonno’s grandkids were together to splash in the wading pool, play dress-up and have a good time. We even got to enjoy Nonna’s molo (though we missed Nonna herself)

We headed to California Adventure with Mom and Dad on Wednesday. The lines weren’t too long and we had a great time on the new attraction, Toy Story Mania. On Thursday, we went to Disneyland with Jacob and Luka. Again, not too crowded and the lines were pretty quick. Mom and Luka hung out a few times while we went on the fast rollercoasters. Now that we’ve mastered Space Mountain, The Matterhorn, and Big Thunder we are setting our sites on rollercoasters that go upside down. (Cal Adv Pictures) (Disneyland Pictures)

Fourth of July Friday was spent at our Uncle Nick’s house for a family BBQ. There was a 40 ft water slide, snow cone machine (margarita machine for dad) water balloons and a lots of other fun stuff. We enjoyed Fireworks in the evening and we conked by the time we got home.

Saturday and Sunday were spent hanging out some more with our cousins and getting ready for school on Tuesday. Jackie was in town on Sunday and we made our own pizzas and played Rockband on the Wii. (can't post link but pictures are up on mac site)

But just because school starts on Tuesday (first day of school pics) doesn’t mean that summer is over. We are on the wait list for Skateboard camp, hopefully we will get in.Tori has participated in the past and Annie and Julie are finally “of age” New skateboards and all our safety gear are waiting in the garage. (UPDATE: We got in, check our some pictures) We are also signed up for formal swimming lessons the last two weeks in July.

August will be busy preparing for Olivia and a few weeks after she comes (she’s due 8/21) we are off school again, off track for the month of September which is always a busy month. We are looking forward to another visit from Jackie and bonding with our new baby sister. We will also be celebrating 8 (yes, 8) birthdays that month.

We hope you are enjoying your summer. Let us know what you are up to.
