Tori's homework (a bit beyond)

Tori was assigned to write a discription of her thanksgiving dinner. She called grandma, found out what we'd be eating and wrote the following story.

The Pilgrim Family

Long ago, there was a pilgrim family. They had just sailed from England on their ship, the Mayflower. They were the smartest family in the group. The mother found out how to cook food the right way so that no one would get poisoned. The father knew how to find and catch game without missing once. And the little children knew how to actually have people taste the food before they ran of saying, “Oh! Look at the time, I must be off!”

On the day they arrived, the pilgrim family said, “We shall have a feast celebrating our good voyage.” So all the men went hunting and came back with four turkeys and three wild pigs. What a feast it was! There was turkey, ham and stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and sweet potatoes. They had fruit salad and broccoli casserole. They also had cranberry sauce. For dessert they had pumpkin pie, chocolate mouse and cherry pie. Amazingly, they had ice cream.

When the feast was over, they had so much food left over. So the men went and told the Indians they had a feast prepared for them. The Indian chief said “MMMM! Best food I ever had!”

The father pilgrim called everyone together. “I think” he said, “that we should do this once a year and call in Thanksgiving because we gave thanks for our voyage.”

The End

The food in this story was inspired by Tori’s Thanksgiving dinner.
